Apptega Release Notes October 2024

The one with fixes for SPRS Scoring, Unsaved Data, and Mid-Assessment Panic
10/21/2024
🪄 Program Enhancements
- Auto-Download for "Download All": One click is all it takes. When you hit "Download All" in a sub-control, the document manager, or an audit, the download will now start instantly–because who has the time to click twice?
- Syncing Notes & Recommendations Between Frameworks: The notes and recommendations fields now propagate across mapped frameworks, so you don’t have to keep entering (or forgetting to enter) the same info in multiple places.
📊 Reporting Improvements
- SSP Cosmetic Fixes: We applied some aesthetic touch-ups to the font and wording of the SSP report to make it look top-notch.
- Executive Summary Enhancements: The Risk Distribution slide now features improved verbiage and sorting. It’s clearer, more organized, and easier to digest, just as it should be.

🪄 Improvements
Full Program Report Update: NIST CSF v2.0 Profile Fields Added
NIST rolled out its CSF v2.0 in early 2024, and we had to make sure our Full Program Reports (Word and Excel) were ready for the party. The report now displays and populates profile fields for NIST CSF v2.0, in addition to the existing ones for v1.1. Whether you’re using the new or the old version, your reports will now have all the profile info you need.
SPRS Score Tooltip for CMMC Level 1
We’ve added a handy SPRS score tooltip for CMMC Level 1 that lets you peek into the future. It estimates what your score might look like if you tackled Level 2 of CMMC 2.0. It's an estimate, not a fortune-telling device (the SPRS score is only officially tied to Level 2) but it’ll give you an idea of where your current practices stack up.
SPRS Score Removed from CMMC Level 3
With this update, the SPRS score shuffle is over. We’ve officially removed the SPRS score from CMMC 2.0 Level 3. As you may remember from reading about it 5 seconds ago, this score is only intended for Level 2.
SPRS Score Removed from Executive Summary Report of CMMC 2.0 Levels 1 and 3
We realized that displaying the SPRS Score for CMMC 2.0 Levels 1 and 3 in the Executive Summary Report was like giving you directions to a place you weren’t headed. This score applies only to NIST 800-171 and CMMC 2.0 Level 2, so to eliminate any confusion, we've removed it from the report for Levels 1 and 3.
And to keep things extra clear, we will soon phase out the SPRS Score entirely from CMMC 2.0 Level 3 and add a tooltip to clarify things for Level 1.
New Unsaved Data Warning in Assessments
Closing a tab mid-assessment and losing your work is something you wouldn’t wish on your worst enemy. Luckily, that’s no longer a revenge option. Now, if you try to navigate away from the assessment page without saving, a handy warning modal will pop up to stop you in your tracks.
🪳🔨 Bugs Bashed
- Editing a sub-control profile didn’t display existing data: While working on NIST CSF 2.0, you may have wondered, "Did I actually fill that out?" Well, you weren’t losing it. A bug in its profile editing section made it look like your answers for gaps, target tier, and current tier never existed. We’ve fixed it, so now your data shows up as expected when editing and you can stop questioning your sanity.
