Our latest tasking upgrade is a powerful driver for your continuous compliance programs.

With Task Recurrence, you can set up recurring tasks to review controls as often as you need. 

Imagine this: 

• You need to review a sub-control from NIST 800-171 on the last Thursday of every month. 
• Instead of scrambling to remember or manually creating a new task, you set it up once. 
• Apptega handles the rest, with fields like Task Owner, Milestones, and Objective Evidence auto-populating for each instance. 
• And because we’ve got your back, you’ll get a reminder one week before it’s due. 

The best part? Recurring tasks are clearly marked in your Task List and Kanban Board, so you’ll always know what’s in motion.

🎨 New UX/UI - Phase 1 

If you joined us at our recent product launch event, you already know the big news: In 2025, we’re rolling out the fully redesigned Apptega—a platform built to make compliance management a delight. 

But why wait for 2025 for a better experience? We’re starting now with incremental UI enhancements to make your compliance journey smoother.  

Here’s what’s new at the sub-control level:

📄 Documents 

We’ve streamlined the document upload process by splitting file upload and link existing file options into two dedicated modals. Plus, you’ll now see a document count for each sub-control, giving you quick insight at a glance.

✅ Tasks 

The new task modal lets you add tasks from any page without leaving your workflow. Stay focused and organized without the platform hopping.

🛠️ Control Activities 

We’ve given Control Activities the same smooth workflow as Documents. Now, you’ll see two sections: one for creating control activities and one for linking existing ones. And it all happens in the modal to keep things nice and tidy.

🚨 Risks 

The Risks table just got an upgrade. Preview key details like risk description and response plan with ease, making it simpler to understand, prioritize, and take action.

But again, this is just the beginning. Stay tuned for more updates as we work toward the new Apptega!

📈️ Optimized Extended Assessment Report 

Today is a lucky day for reports enthusiasts, as we’ve made some changes to the expanded version of the Assessment Report.  

Here’s what’s improved: 

• No more cliffhangers: Recommendations and control descriptions are now shown in full. You’re welcome. 
• Notes galore: We’ve added notes for each sub-control for more context. 
• Complete transparency: If an entire control family doesn’t meet 100% compliance, all related sub-controls will now appear in the Partially Met and Not Met slides. (Previously, only some of the sub-controls showed up, which was kind of confusing.)

NIST 800-171 Rev 3 Is Here

The wait is over. The NIST 800-171 Rev 3 is complete and live in production. This release includes:

• A NIST 800-171 Rev 3 Assessment
• A NIST 800-171 Rev 3 Framework
• A NIST 800-171 Rev 3 Task Pack

NIST 800-171a Task Pack Updates

• The NIST 800-171a Task Pack has been updated and is now available in the platform, ensuring smoother workflows and alignment with your compliance needs.

HIPAA Enhancements

• HIPAA Security and Privacy Assessment Updates: Formatting improvements have been applied, making assessments more user-friendly. 
• HIPAA Security Assessment and Framework Updates: Both the assessment and framework have been refreshed and are ready for use. Learn more about these updates here: HIPAA Updates.
